This year's barleywine base beer consisted of two English Malts in large quantity, boiled hours longer than normal to achieve a bigger body, and then balanced with English hops for sustained excitement, even after spending a year in barrels. This batch was aged in a variety Copperworks Distillery Single Malt American Whiskey casks, with small nuances between them (some were French oak, some were American oak), and blended together to create a punchy harmony overall. Balanced heat, notes of toffee, and a pleasant silky body, and brown sugar and oak in the nose.
